Lainesmead Primary School and Nursery is a two form entry school with children from 4-11 years of age, situated in Old Walcot. Our children come from a diverse background and this is something we are especially proud of. As a school which delivers the International Primary Curriculum, we celebrate all that makes us unique as well as all the binds us together as a world-wide community.
Lainesmead is a very special place to go to school. We know this because the children themselves tell us each and every day. In fact, in their own words, it is “Like a big family!” and “Everyone is kind, friendly and supportive.” It is a busy, happy school with an atmosphere which enables the children to be highly engaged in their learning, enabling the children to be the best they can be. Ofsted graded the school as ‘Good’ in June 2014 with them acknowledging the family feel we have within the school: “All staff are proud to be members of the school team. Staff work closely together to plan activities that respond to pupils’ interests, that give them an enthusiasm for learning and that make a strong contribution to their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.”
We work closely with families and the local community to develop the ethos within the school. We want all children to make a valuable contribution to the life of the school, be it as a ‘Play Leader,’ ‘Prefect,’ ‘Head Boy or Girl’ or any other number of ways the children are given responsibilities across the school. In fact the school’s Mission Statement of “learning together, caring together and achieving together” sums this close connection up perfectly.
We hope that this website will provide you with the information you require and supports you in making the decision that Lainesmead Primary is the ideal place to educate your child. Should you have any further queries or would like a tour of the school, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
