The International Primary Curriculum (IPC)

Great learning, great teaching and great fun...

Lainesmead became an IPC school nearly four years ago and in that time has fully embraced the all-inclusive, cross-curricular approach it offers.
The International Primary Curriculum (IPC) is one of the fastest-growing curriculums in the world today. The children at Lainesmead love the wide range of topics that it offers, including Chocolate, Circuses, Celebrations and Mission to Mars. We teach nearly all of our foundation subjects through one fun and exciting topic and aim to include Science and Literacy as well. This enables us deliver our topics in a really in-depth and meaningful way. The IPC also promotes personal learning and international mindedness.

IPC Exit afternoons

Parents are invited to share in our learning experiences and to join in our fabulous IPC finish in an exciting and practical way. The next Fabulous Finish afternoon is on Monday 09 February from 2.30pm. Every term a different year group "performs" an assembly at 2.15pm prior to the open afternoon for parents/carers/grandparents etc based around their topic and afterwards the audience is invited back to the classroom so the children can show their grown up what they have been learning about. It is the turn of Year 5 this term (term 3), followed by Year 2 in Term 4 (23rd March), Year 1 in Term 5 (18 May) and finally Year 3 in term 6 on the 29 June.
