School Council

Bags of Help

Several months ago, Lainesmead competed against 2 other local projects to win a bid of money that would enable us to construct our very own sensory garden for the children of Lainesmead.

Thanks to the wonderful customers of Tesco; WE WON!

This means an amazing sum of £4850 has been awarded to Lainesmead via Tesco’s Bags of Help initiative.

The School Council have recently began working on this exciting project; so far they have chosen items and elements that will be included in the garden and have designed the plans for its layout.

The sensory garden will be built in the area where the chickens use to be (at the back of Key Stage 1 building).

You may have already noticed Mr Kyson working hard to turn over the soil and prepare the ground. Mrs Painter has chosen the winning design which was drawn by our year 4 School Council members, Charlie, Lexi and Josh. Well done to them for their innovative and exciting design!

The garden will include an archway, astro-turf, a pond, trees and much much more.

Please watch out for updates about how the garden is progressing in the coming weeks.
